G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #248
Summary
A silent issue, as Dawn Moreno slices n’ kills a buncha’ Red Ninjas. Meanwhile, Snake-Eyes flashback of issue 21 dance in her head. After non-stop ninja killing, some grenades roll into view…and out steps Firefly.
Notes
- That’s an… odd rendition of Firefly. He looks chunky, as if he’s been hitting the Springfield AYCE Pizza Buffet too often. The proportions of the RPG on his shoulder seem off, as well. It looks dainty and not at all threatening
- Weird, because artist Netho Diaz did a pretty good job with anatomy, otherwise.
- The Snake-Eyes flashbacks show the biggest differences between the two stories; and why this modern one is ineffective. In the original issue 21, Snake-Eyes was progressively making his way through the castle as part of a linear story. Each encounter had some variety in how Snake-Eyes dealt with the situation. Here, Dawn is just slashing people with no progression or creativity. Unless you call grabbing a Red Ninja’s weapon and slicing someone open with it “creative”.
