Summary:
In Sierra Gordo, the Joes finally receive reinforcements in the form of the new Locust Helicopter and the Raider Tank/Thingie. They’re able to blow away Darklon’s Razorbacks and capture him.
In New York, Gen. Thurston Crowther (now completely named, which screws up my indexing for the last two issues) imprisons Stalker and Storm Shadow in the Statue of Liberty’s torch.
In Borovia, Snake-Eyes reaches the gulag in Pvnsk, where both Strawhacker and Magda are supposedly held captive. Metz soon arrives with Major Bludd, as the issue ends.
Notes:
- I really think naming him “Thurston Crowther” was an attempt to evade another No-Prize Attempt from readers.
- Amazingly, when Darklon’s guys cut down the rainforest, they also replaced the GROUND, making it look like the Arizona desert.
- It’s been awhile since they’ve introduced any new stuff, but I’m pretty sure the Raider was a 1989 toy and the Locust was a 1990 toy. Piling up, again.
- Once again, a story in Sierra Gordo involves that frickin’ CHOO-CHOO! This time, the Raider arrives via train.
- Storm Shadow mentions that Crowther is the leader of the Jugglers.
- The mission to Sierra Gordo kinda’ concludes after this, with no real resolution. It’s never clear what they were supposed to be doing there. Weird, because when it was introduced in issue 101 it was supposedly a mission of utmost importance and the entire team’s future depended on it.
- Same for the Millville plot, as it also fades away with no mention in this issue.
